Calvin made his first hunting trip to Montana when he was 5 months old, and he didn't just go for the ride.  We hunted birds over him and had a great time watching him learn about wild pheasants. At 10 months old he earned a NAVDHA Natural Ability Prize 2  (103 pts).  He quickly established himself as our primary hunting  dog with his intensity and bidability.  

Calvin stands about  27" and weighs approximately 80 lbs.  He has a dense, harsh outer coat, tight short undercoat, and is dark liver and white ticked.  He has dark eyes.  He was whelped on June 25th, 1998.

While a big dog, Calvin has tremendous endurance and hunts hard all day.  He swims strongly and handles well on waterfowl, never quitting in search for a downed bird.  

Calvin's temperament is excellent.  He loves people and getting attention.  Calvin is not dog aggressive and has no problem working in the field with other male dogs.  

Every year we have taken him to the Sportsman's Show in Puyallup, WA. where he meets hundreds of strangers.  He earned his bench Ch in 2000.  

Calvin is producing his coat, temperament, and bird hunting ability in his kids.  At a young age his kids have already received JH titles, NAVDHA NA titles, and conformation titles.  And most importantly they are good hunting and family companions.
