Jack&OdinLaura And Baby Ruby

We began breeding Wirehairs in 1977. Jack and I had both had experience with other pointing breeds and were amazed at how intelligent and versatile the Wirehair could be.

As our family grew we found that the wirehairs adapted well to being part of a family.  They were both protective of our children and were willing to simply hang out for a nap with a tired youngster.

Our goal here at Inverness Kennels is Versatility. We have hunted our Wirehairs on a variety of upland game, ducks, and geese. We want a dog that thinks, is bidable, yet meets our requirements for a family companion. We breed working dogs for the person who hunts on foot and wants to have both a family dog and a versatile hunting partner with Brains, Conformation, and an incredible sense of humor. Our dogs have the ability to finish in the breed ring, perform in the obedience ring, and go into the field all in the same day.

When not hunting, we enjoy, and sucessfully participate in, conformation shows, obedience trials, and AKC hunt tests. The dogs from our kennels have earned a wide range of titles showing their versatile heritage. We are happy to show off our dogs and welcome visitors.
